Annet van Veenendaal: Theme manager public private collaboration at NDW

Title: Status of the EU public private alignment on implementation of the revised RTTI DR ánd how to proceed!

Annet spoke about the progress made in aligning public and private stakeholders on the revised RTTI Delegated Regulation. She highlighted the collaboration within the RTTI Task Force, the challenges encountered in achieving high-quality data standards, and the critical role of public-private partnerships in meeting regulatory requirements. The discussion covered the current state of implementation and outlined clear steps to advance alignment and compliance.

Title: The pragmatic Dutch approach to the RTTI 
Subtitle: How legislation helps reach national goals, the challenges we face and the lessons we learn along the way 


Thomas discussed the collaborative efforts among stakeholders like the Ministry of Infrastructure, road authorities, and regional teams to create and use data for road users. The Netherlands aims to go beyond RTTI compliance, focusing on key data types like speed limits and road closures to create valuable services. He highlighted ongoing improvements in data collection and validation, while addressing challenges like budget constraints and workforce shortages. Thomas emphasized the role of RTTI in improving safety, traffic management, and decision-making.

Title: The role of the national access point (NAP) in RTTI implementation in Finland

Mika highlighted the importance of data ecosystems, collaboration between data providers, and the provision of technical support to facilitate RTTI implementation. The goal is to enhance data collection, harmonization, and delivery to improve the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of Finland’s transport network. The vision for 2027 includes a unified, comprehensive NAP that supports the entire data value chain.

Olli presented Fintraffic Road’s roadmap for RTTI compliance, detailing Fintraffic’s role in managing Finland’s traffic systems and data. He highlighted a study conducted with national agencies to clarify RTTI data requirements. Key data types for RTTI compliance were discussed, along with their alignment with national legislation. Rossi also emphasized integrating real-time traffic data and external sources for effective traffic management.
